You are cordially invited to join our active Scottish Society dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Scottish culture; to share in Scotland’s proud history, her outstanding and innovative accomplishments in engineering, science, medicine, shipbuilding and maritime navigation; her colorful heritage, music and customs.
The Society holds meetings throughout the year with speakers, films and entertainment, an annual Kirkin’ o’ Tartan, a Robert Burns Dinner, a Tartan Ball and summer picnic.
The Society can assist for Scottish programs-pipers, dancers, singers or speakers and instruction in music and the Gaelic language. The Society has opportunities for members to volunteer for our Education Committee to present Scottish programs at schools, libraries and social organizations upon request. Members of the society also have the opportunity to volunteer with our Kinstalkers genealogical group to assist with research of Scottish ancestors. Members of the society are welcome to use our substantial library of books, periodicals and music CD’s and tapes. The Rampant Lion is the society’s monthly newsletter and is sent to all members via email (postal mail upon request).
Since the Society’s founding in 1964, the Scottish Historic and Research Society has been the most continuously active and diversified Scottish organization in North America. We have had membership in the United States, Canada and Europe.
Dues are $20.00 annually for an individual and35.00 per household.
